Speaker 1:

Hello, this is Brad Weizmann. You're listening to Real Estate and You, we are back in the studio for another awesome show. Well, at least I think they're awesome. I don't know, but we have a really cool guest. He's back here again and it is Brandon Moyer, and he has a new well, a rebranded company, and it's called Made to Be Clean. Brandon, how you doing, buddy, i'm good. Thank you for having me again. Thanks for coming back again. Most people don't return. Why is that? It's probably just me, i don't know. I mean, i did wear my deodorant today. Well, that's good. Yeah, yeah, it's usually a bonus. You smell fresh. Thank you, i appreciate that. So, yes, so you have, you had a company, or you still have a company. It's a cleaning company, yes, and you are changing the branding of it, not the service, not the way you do things. You're changing the branding And I think it's perfect, because I know you as the bee man. Uh-huh, Uh-huh. So now it's called Made to Be.

Speaker 2:

Clean. Yes, be Clean. Yes, so many people knew me as the bee man. Yeah, that's pretty much what we thought you were. Yeah, ever since the pandemic, and got into the bees honey company with the Uncle Bee's Honey Company. It's like you know what. Why not blend it all together?

Speaker 1:

Absolutely, i agree with you. 100%, you know, because that way the branding is all. it just kind of all works together.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's all, it's all weaved together. Yeah, just be alive, you know.

Speaker 1:

Awesome man. So so tell me, when did this idea come up and why? Like, is it just because of branding? Is it just because of that, or you just decided? you know what I need to? I need to bring it all together And and it wasn't like a quick decision. So it was a moping decision sort of in my office Moping, yeah, moping, like I was so like kicking things on the ground like kind of your heads down. Yeah, like in my conference room.

Speaker 2:

we're just standing staring at the wall here at our whiteboard, and, um Well, is there anything?

Speaker 1:

on the whiteboard? No, it was blank. It was blank, okay, do you do this a lot?

Speaker 2:

I do, okay, that's scary, Yeah, so okay, keep going, I had 33 whiteboards filled with ideas Oh my gosh. So um, I raced everything just stared at it and it's like you know what Something's missing here in this business and it's, it's my why. Oh, wow, very cool, yeah, and um, many company companies, uh, don't know their why. Yeah, and I didn't want to continue to add to market noise out there of just another cleaning company here in Berks County. So interesting, because there's over 50 of them and that does not include In Berks County.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that does not include solo cleaning either Wow. So in real estate, you'd be surprised how many dirty houses I see. Oh, yeah, yeah, uh-huh, we got, we got to get some work for these 50 people. Oh.

Speaker 2:

I know, oh my gosh. So I spent the past nine years, me and my team, creating a team, creating systems, but the one thing that was missing was our why. Why are we doing this? Um and the bees Yeah, it all sort of just married together, yeah, and um, as I was writing all the stuff down on the whiteboard your hive, our purpose came out to me.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and that was a perfect tagline I love it I love it Overarching part for me to be clean your hive, our purpose.

Speaker 1:

And before it was home care solution. Right, And that's where that's kind of boring.

Speaker 2:

It is very boring, but boring.

Speaker 1:

I was 23 when I I didn't tell you that last time. No, it's okay, now I can say it's kind of like when you leave your a girlfriend, nobody ever, ever says, oh, she was a jerk. They wait until you leave her And then they say she was a jerk. You see, why didn't you tell me that before? And you're like and then you, it really sucks is when they get back together. Yeah, That's always a problem. So if you go back to home care solution, you won't be on the podcast anymore. Okay, That's fine, That's fine. But yeah so that's awesome.

Speaker 2:

Our marketing was struggling. It's like we were mistaken for a home health agency for so long. Oh wow, yes, and there actually had already been a home care solution business in Reading. Oh, geez, the same name, so we were battling in our marketing for SEOs and such, So it was like you know what I'm done. Yeah, makes sense.

Speaker 1:

No, and it's good, i love it And I love the logos. I mean, you have a hat here And if you can see it there, you can see it. You have a hat, obviously, you have the honey here. I got his gifts and this little, this little bee here, which is cool. Yeah, I just love it. And you have an actual apparel now, too. You have this bee bee. Bee line apparel, bee line apparel. I even you even brought me a sweatshirt Now for you. People on the podcast world that are not watching a video, you can't see this, So too bad for you, But no, but there it is. There you can see the bee line apparel. This is what he's he's got now as clothing and stuff, And I guess I'm thinking that you're the people that work for you're wearing this stuff.

Speaker 2:

Yes, right, yeah. So it was originally intended to have created for our customers and our team members or worker bees, yeah To work Worker bees got it. But then I started realizing, as I was at the gym yeah, this could go more. Yeah, be seen across.

Speaker 1:

I really like that logo.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, this is. this is the original, It's really cool.

Speaker 1:

I like that a lot. That's a good one.

Speaker 2:

So, but if like the bee line apparel, it's a bee and an M, but look at a line. So it's personal branding for Brandon Moyer.

Speaker 1:

So I sort of fit this all into one thing.

Speaker 2:

So bee line apparel, be resilient, be you Just like the bees. We throw so many things out on pesticides. I love that, That destruction.

Speaker 1:

I don't love that. we start with the sides out of it. Want to get that right? No, but I read that when you wrote that down on here somewhere and you said it's amazing how resilient they are. Yes, it's almost like they think we're just wanting to kill them constantly. The bees.

Speaker 2:

But they show up every day still, yeah, they still pollinate, they still make the honey, same as Hugo. It's amazing, exactly Yeah, as much as we make fun of him, i'm a drone, i'm a drone And he still comes back into the studio every time It's amazing. And then you know with us day to day. Our daily lives are filled with stress and anxiety And we're getting thrown things at us, but yet we still have to show up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

We have to do our job, and that's what I want people to realize that, just like the bee, they still show up, they're resilient and they're themselves. Why can't we be that way?

Speaker 1:

There's so many parallels there and so many things to get, from who they are to where we should be too, and I've learned a lot, i gotta tell you the last time you were on the show, and if you're watching this show and you are interested in bees, definitely go back and listen to the show we had before with him. It was really, really good. I learned so much. I have knowledge of bees that I never thought I would have, but it's very interesting And it's very. It even had me thinking, hmm, maybe I'll do this someday. You know, yeah, and we're going to have you on another show that I'm doing now. It's called the American Dream TV Selling, reading, pa, and we're going to be on our episode four that you will be on And we're going to feature I want to feature the bees, i want to do some videoing wherever you have the hives and things, and hopefully I won't get stung. And then one thing I need to do is ask the film, the videographer guy, if he's allergic to bees, because he won't want to do it if he is. Well, i got bee seeds just in case. Yeah, bee seeds, okay, yeah that's good.

Speaker 2:

We do all the tours on top of the Double Tree Roof.

Speaker 1:

Yes, For all they're at, Then that's where we could go. So you want to keep watching this stuff, what he's on, because it's really cool stuff. So let's go into one of the things about also with your company's culture and personal culture of personal development was one of the things that you're really into and making sure that your employees worker bees are. It's not just about work.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and that's where a lot of companies go wrong is just about work, and I realized after doing this for nine years that I want to change that. I want to change the industry with not just the cleaning industry, but the industry of employment and creating a culture where your employees love coming to work, not just because of the work that they do, but because they like the people around them and they become sort of a family. But more so is having our leadership team invest in our team, teaching them how to repair credit, yeah, celebrating their wins on when they were able to purchase a house, things like that And just being there for them. We have a culture committee that meets every two weeks. They did our landscaping out front of our office building.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, all volunteer time, that's great.

Speaker 2:

So when you know you have your employees volunteering their time to help a cause, you know they have bought into it Absolutely And we're super proud of that, And it extends into our most of our employees, Yeah. So we're very thrilled with it. We have some great stuff coming up and we're very proud of it And we want to show the public that too, Yeah that's great man.

Speaker 1:

What's interesting is Keller Williams is very, very similar to what you're talking about. One of the reasons that I'm here at this company is because of culture and because of it not just being about commissions and making money and all that stuff. It's about caring for our agents, making sure that they're okay. If they have personal issues or things going on, can we be there for them, can we help them out, can we get them past that point? Yeah, you know, cause a lot of companies and I think that's believe it or not, i think that's a trend that is starting to happen, because all the studies show that you know you can give somebody a raise, but a lot of times people will leave not just because of the money. They'll leave because of the culture or the, or how the job makes them feel Yeah, and that's that's important. So I think that's awesome. I think you're on the definitely in the right path with that. So tell me about this. The grand opening for Made to Be Clean is July 15th.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, at our office off of Oly Ternpike Road from 12 to four, we have a DJ.

Speaker 1:

Awesome.

Speaker 2:

We have Mr Frosty there face painting and a couple other games to play. But the cool thing is, everyone gets to see the newly renovated office Awesome As well inside of how we operate, what it looks like, and even take a glimpse of our low toxicity.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Chemicals. I love that. I shouldn't even say chemicals. It's solutions, Solutions That we make there at the office.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's cool. You were telling me before that you actually make some of the cleaning solutions.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the stuff that is out there in the market that says it's eco-friendly, green, it's. It's all false, it's just marketing.

Speaker 1:

So what most of them is.

Speaker 2:

And it's double, triple the price And it does not clean. So we have to come up with our own stuff, and it's based with mostly water, vinegar, baking soda.

Speaker 1:

But those are classic cleaning things Like you know nobody. It's so funny that we had a girl that used to clean her house and she would. She would do the shower And you know she would use vinegar, yep, and it's not the best smelling thing in the world, but it was amazing That shower was cleaner than than with any other product And I didn't go in there like gagging from from the, from the chemical.

Speaker 2:

So the good thing is with us, you won't smell the vinegar. We've diluted it enough that it's that you don't clean very well but it's not going to smell like you're going to need some french fries with that?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, exactly. Or maybe like a little oil to make a salad? Yeah, exactly, You won't get hungry Yeah that's good, but you'll appreciate the.

Speaker 2:

You can touch it without wearing gloves, you know yeah, exactly You don't have to wait, it's, it's good.

Speaker 1:

It's awesome environment.

Speaker 2:

We save a lot on recycling.

Speaker 1:

We're not going to do bottles, and you know because you're using the same stuff and you're doing it in house We're refilling our bottles Awesome, throwing anything away. Yeah, that's good, that's good for the bees too, absolutely Yeah. Then also there was a book that you had come out with. What was the name of the first one?

Speaker 2:

again, the Adventures of Uncle B and Ruby Catching a Swarm.

Speaker 1:

That's what I that's. I do remember that because I remember the little caricature of yourself.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Now you have a new one you're working on and it's a. You have a five series book collection coming out. You're writing this book to and it's coming out soon Yep, At the end of August that's what we're going to have. And I saw I had like a big dinosaur on the cover.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's the Adventures of Uncle B and Ruby and the prehistoric Buzz. Does Uncle B?

Speaker 1:

ever get eaten by the dinosaur, because I would really think that'd be cool to watch. You know, stay tuned, okay.

Speaker 2:

Is there any blood? No blood, no blood.

Speaker 1:

Lots of honey, though Lots of honey.

Speaker 2:

Okay, got it.

Speaker 1:

Such a sweet story, yeah. So, moving on the Beeline of Parallel we talked about This is the other thing too is you're doing this thing with the Government Fund Internship Program. You have students coming to do that and it's on. You're going to be doing that on August 4th, i believe.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we're actually going to launch our Shopify store online. We're going to open it for a week and then close it. So, from now until then, we're going to be building the hype for the certain apparel that we're going to have on there Gotcha And these three students who are amazing, by the way From Governor Mifflin From Governor Mifflin They just naturally know what to do, isn't?

Speaker 1:

it amazing.

Speaker 2:

And it's funny, their strong suits each of them complement the business structure very well. Oh, that's cool, and they've turned part of my office into shipping and handling. And the other part into a manufacturing part I feel like a little Amazon, yeah, yeah. Yeah, so in fact, we're actually going to be using that for our Uncle Bee's Honey Company the shipping and packaging for our online orders that we're relaunching for in the fall, do you still have the place at the?

Speaker 1:

farmers market. I do, yes, yeah, that's where you're selling honey, right, yep. Let's go back into the bees thing too, just because I mean we talked about a lot of stuff there, but this took real quick. go back into that. So you have the. still have the hives on top of the downtown red Double tree, yep. And okay, do you have a minute you have in your yard too, or something like that.

Speaker 2:

We have in the yard, have in the yard. We have four on top of Abernay University.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you have some there too, yeah, downtown Wow. Now are you supplying all the honey you sell from there, from those Yep, yep, geez And I got some right here too, and you can't see this on the podcast, but this is the honey here that he has, and he has, he's at the market. You can buy them, and you even have those honey sticks, i think, oh, yes, yeah, those are. What do you do with those? You can, but don't get weird about this, all right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Cut the tip and then just start in your coffee or honey, Oh, or if you're on a hike, just you know, suck on it. It's a straw and it's a good sugar rush.

Speaker 1:

Oh you know what's funny? I love honey in my tea. That's a great idea. So you just cut the end off and then just stick it in your tea. Yep, and just start.

Speaker 2:

The heat of the tea will loosen all the honey in it.

Speaker 1:

So how we look with the bees, I mean, are things? are things still as dire as they were?

Speaker 2:

So the honey bees are fine, okay. And it's a common misconception when people say save the bees, the one thinks honey bees, yeah right, honey bees are okay, okay. It's the other native bees Okay, or more in trouble.

Speaker 1:

Now, what are those?

Speaker 2:

Double bees, mason bees. What's up with the bees? you said Mason bees, mason bees.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, don't know what they're talking about.

Speaker 2:

Mason apple bee. If you have an apple tree you'll see honey, honey bees pollinate the tree, yeah, but the mason bee has a unique ability that it can actually double and triple load your apple tree Just by its efficiency of pollination Get out of here, yeah. So, but every time you bring a hive in of honey bees, that sort of displaces the other bees. So, honey bees are actually invasive. They're not native to this continent. Interesting, yeah, i did see that. So they were brought in. You know, 1500s, when we were settling here in this country and developing it for bees wax purposes for candles? Yeah, Inevitably, we didn't know at the time. Yeah, you know, every time the hive comes in you sort of push out the native So that native bees in trouble Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Those and many others, and bumblebees, and what about yellowjackets, wasps, all that stuff? No, there's plenty of them. Yeah, that's gonna say.

Speaker 2:

They're good pollinators though They really are, but they're predator.

Speaker 1:

I don't care for them that much, just so you know. I hope you're not gonna get offended. Yeah, because they sting They do And they hurt, yeah, hornets, especially I am not fond of hornets.

Speaker 2:

So this second book, the prehistoric buzz we'll talk about, is that bees came from predatory wasps.

Speaker 1:

So without the wasp we would not have the bees Right, but that was a long time ago, so we don't really Yeah, that was a long time ago.

Speaker 2:

Do we still need the wasp?

Speaker 1:

We still need it. Well, hugo, what do you think I'd say? get rid of the wasp. What?

Speaker 2:

do you think I think so. I'm feeling the sting of that. Yeah, i think you're feeling more of the sting.

Speaker 1:

You feel the pinch, yeah, i think you're feeling the pinch and the sting somewhere, yeah, so that's amazing. And it's interesting because it is true, everybody thinks the honeybee is the one in trouble.

Speaker 2:

Yep, it's just good marketing. Let's be more.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, or bad marketing, well, yeah, if the message isn't correct, yeah. So what else do you want to talk about before we end the show? Anything else More?

Speaker 2:

about made to be clean.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 2:

Just not solve pain points in your house, okay, but we want to be very involved in the community. We've partnered with a nonprofit called Bless Beginnings right now Okay, who? we are volunteering our time. Our leadership team is volunteering their time to help fill baskets, and these baskets are filled with all the essentials you need The kitchenware medicine, maybe some towels, rags, culturally, things like that, yeah That soaps, detergents everything you need to function in a house or an apartment. These baskets go to women who are having a hardship, whether it's abusive relationship or what Bless Beginnings is there to? deliver this stuff, that's awesome, So it's really neat that we're involved in the community like that. We want to be involved in other areas too, So if anyone who's listening has a nonprofit that is community based, we'd love to be a part of that.

Speaker 1:

How do they get in touch with you, like, what's the best way to get in touch?

Speaker 2:

Visit our website, okay wwwmai2bcleancom and go on to our purpose.

Speaker 1:

And it's B-E-E for B-Clean.

Speaker 2:

Made is M-A-I-D.

Speaker 1:

M-A-I-D right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah so, but we're super thrilled We're also pledging that 3% of our profits that we have go to B-Conservation and community based nonprofits as well.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome. That's really cool. That's awesome. Man, i appreciate that. I think it's. I think it got great great thing going on here with the company And I think I love the change name change We're considering a name change ourselves for the podcast. It's not decided upon yet, but we're thinking about it. The thing is is we're doing a lot more than just real estate. You know, i mean you're talking about the bees hive, which is real estate. Right, yeah, you are cleaning real estate, So that still works there, but there's times where we can't we can't squeeze it into real estate, so we're thinking about changing the name to something that's non real estate. We'll see what happens And I'll let you know, but thanks so much for coming on. the show man. This is awesome, absolutely, thank you, and I want you to come back, so absolutely, and I'll see you for the TV show also. Yep, so we'll get that all set up All right. That's great. Hugo, do you have anything?

Speaker 2:

No, no, i just just a mesmerize, appreciating all the knowledge and you know that's cool, That's a great guy Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he is awesome And you're doing some video stuff for him, aren't you? That's right.

Speaker 2:

Yes, that's right. I'm very excited for that. Yeah, that's very cool.

Speaker 1:

All right, we'll have to check that out and get it on our Facebook and everything else too, to share that once it's done. But that's about it. Thank you so much. I appreciate you for being on the show. Yep, thank you All right. There you have it. Brandon Moyer made to be be E clean. Check him out online. You can go on Facebook, you go to websites, whatever. He's got stuff going on. July 15th It's the grand opening from 12 to four on his only Turnpike road location. Yeah, so check it out. It's all good stuff. I'm so excited. All right, that's about it. See you next Thursday 7pm.
